Slab production involves heavy loads, high temperatures and closely linked process steps. Reliable material data is essential whenever slabs move between casting, inspection, storage, reheating and rolling. LogoTek solutions combine warehouse management, sensor-based tracking, optical identification and contact-free measurement to maintain transparency across these demanding production and logistics processes.

LTWMS manages slab locations, material history, warehouse occupancy and transport orders within the yard. Production schedules, material properties, storage rules and restrictions can be considered when selecting storage locations and coordinating cranes or other means of transport. Process data from connected tracking systems updates the warehouse image automatically, while interfaces to Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 systems connect logistics with plant automation and production planning.

On roller tables, interacting 2D scanners can provide continuous tracking over long distances and support slab positioning in front of furnaces. Cameras and OCR systems can read stamped or paint-marked identifiers and provide an additional identification point in the material flow. For dimensional quality control, LogoTek supplies measuring systems for hot and cold slabs using 1D and 2D sensors. Depending on the application, these systems determine length, width, thickness and profile. For the slab-measurement system described by LogoTek, stated specifications include accuracy below 1 mm and material temperatures up to 1,350 °C.
