Ring Rolling

Precise inline and offline measurement of hot and cold rings

Ring-rolling processes demand reliable dimensional data despite high material temperatures, short cycle times and changing product geometries. LogoTek develops optical measuring systems that capture the geometry of hot and cold rings without contact. The solutions can be integrated directly into the production flow or installed as stationary offline stations, depending on the process and inspection concept.

Inline systems are designed for measurement within the production sequence. A robot with a 2D sensor or a measuring bridge above the roller table records the required geometry while positioning equipment brings the ring into a defined measuring position. The complete station can include lifting and lowering devices, pushers, hydraulic units and safety fences, all coordinated with the surrounding automation and material-handling equipment.

For stationary measurement, three or more 2D triangulation sensors generate a cross-sectional image of the ring. By rotating the component on a turntable, the system transforms this data into a three-dimensional representation. This provides a transparent basis for evaluating dimensional results and supporting process and quality decisions. Where required, LogoTek also supplies heavy-duty roller tables and hydraulic ring-handling equipment for reliable transport and positioning.
